While there are plenty of cIOS's and homebrew utilities out there, the Wii could me more if the entire system could be compiled from source.
- Strip away all the Nintendo licensing DRM (likely the very first move from everyone in the wii homebrew scene)
- Embed the functionality of Homebrew Channel and USB Loader GX into the OS itself (also a likely move)
- Compile IOS for x86 PC's with a PowerPC JIT compiler for binary compatibility with all existing games, build a beefy Wii, then the games will look crappier because they were developed in 480i and you're playing them in 4K
- Year 2038 compliance
